Her daughter began to cry and then stopped. Also, from the distance, we could hear the woman’s intermittent sobs. Taken by the unusual scenario, the secretary not knowing who they were, she was compelled to call the young girl whom she asked in quick succession: Who is that woman? Is she your sister? What is the matter? She replied, “She is my mother. I do not know (what the matter is).” She seemed to have taken an oath of non-disclosure, so the secretary sent her back to her seat.
Early in secondary school, among a group of young boys chattering away, someone claimed that anyone who read the Book of Job through would become insane. Yours truly tested the tale and remained in his right mind. Phew! It was a tall tale.
Even though we make mistakes along the way and sometimes sin against the Lord, we must get back up, repent and quickly get our hearts right with Him. Let your heart be an open book before the Lord.
I feel impressed to encourage someone reading this. You may have had a terrible experience and you have been going around a mountain of regret and pain. It is time to move on. It is time to pick the pieces of your life and allow God to begin a process of healing for your heart. He has not withdrawn His love or gifts from you. There is a great life ahead of you. Do not miss it!
Are you married, or are you hoping to get married someday? Are you divorced, separated or living in a hellish union? Is your marriage blissful or is it the bane of your life, or somewhere in between? It is good to marry, and that is not a figment of my imagination!
I know someone who borrowed money from a young woman and could not or did not want to repay. He married her, and voila, that cancelled the debt!
Some time ago, something triggered a memory in my mind. I had seen a little child crying, and he refused to be comforted. He had found out that his mother had gone out when he did not know it. Perhaps he might have been asleep when she did.
What might be causing anxieties in your life today? Is it a loved one with a serious health challenge; a marriage relationship has gone sour; insufficient time and resources to finish a vital project; the inability to make ends meet because of a rising cost of basics and a salary shrunken by inflation or worse the possibility of losing your job or business.
Over the weekend, the story about a father who went berserk, clobbered two of his children and then attacked his own father with a pestle was in the news. Sadly, the children did not survive. What would reduce a man to such a state?
We are in difficult times and the days are evil. Challenges present as though they were insurmountable. Fathers who stand as warriors for their wives and children are succumbing to the pressures of life.
I vividly recollect an incident in a particular meeting. After teaching the Word, I gave the altar call and several people came to give their lives to Christ. To demonstrate what I had taught, I asked anyone in the congregation who might have any ailment to come out for prayers. I then requested those who had just given their lives to Christ to pray for them. It was awesome as we witnessed new believers pray for the sick and God healed them.
Have people placed labels on you? Well, that is just what they are- labels. Labels are not who you are!
God says you are priceless. See yourself as He sees you.
God made you in His image and likeness. You carry His DNA! You must have confidence in Him, and from that confidence, you can build confidence in yourself.
