How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. 

1Peter 1:23-24, NIV
For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God. 

1John 5:1-2, NIV
Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the Father loves his child as well. 

Now that you have believed in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and received Him as your Lord and Saviour, you have become a child of God. And that is what you are now. You belong to God, just as a child belongs to his father. You are a recipient of God’s unfailing love.

Saying you have become a child of God means you are born of God through a spiritual birth. It is not by your parentage or natural birth. God has begotten you through His Spirit. Your new life is a spiritual reality. (John 3:1-8).

From the physical standpoint, nothing may have changed, but from the spiritual everything has changed. You are “Born of the Spirit.” You are born into God’s family. You are a new creation, the old has gone and the NEW has come. Everything about the NEW is of God. 

2Corinthians 5:17-18, CEV
Anyone who belongs to Christ is a new person. The past is forgotten, and everything is new. God has done it all! He sent Christ to make peace between himself and us, and he has given us the work of making peace between himself and others. 

Now that you are born again, as a child of God, certain things are vital to help you grow, mature, and become effective as a child of God.
